Subsurface Investigations

Tecumseh personnel have conducted hydrogeologic contaminant site characterizations at over 200 petroleum and hazardous materials facilities across the United States. We design and implement cost-effective, comprehensive investigation strategies to accurately characterize subsurface lithology and evaluate the magnitude and distribution of environmental contaminants.  Furthermore, our investigations are designed to address specific client goals and budgetary requirements.  Investigation activities on behalf of our clients typically include:

Site Inspection and data review
Advancement and sampling of soil-gas sampling points
Soil borings, and/or groundwater monitor wells
Field and laboratory analyses of retrieved soil and groundwater samples
Synthesis of collected data and preparation of a comprehensive report
Regulatory interface

Our staff has extensive experience with a wide-variety of drilling methodologies such as direct-push, hollow-stem auger, air-rotary, stratex/odex™ mud-rotary, and casing-hammer techniques.  We have also utilized geophysical techniques for identification of buried structures, tanks, lines, etc.  Tecumseh maintains a full-range of field analytical instrumentation and sampling equipment.  Our staff also has experience modeling subsurface contaminant fate and transport in ground water environments.

All investigation are conducted under the direction of a Tecumseh Professional Geologist. In addition, all environmental investigation and remediation projects are conducted under the direction of certified regulatory oversight agency.
