Facilities Operation, Maintenance, and Security
Facility operation, maintenance, and security are some of the fastest growing portions of the services industry.  As the government continues to downsize, privatize, and realign its priorities, much of the funding has been diverted to more cost effective contractor-operated facilities.  Tecumseh recognized this realignment and redirection and has moved aggressively into this field.  We currently operate three facilities including two Army ammunition plants and the grounds and buildings of one prison facility.  These facilities contain over 25,000 acres, hundreds of buildings, and 89 tenants employing hundreds of personnel.



Under contracts from the Operations Support Command (OSC), Tecumseh operates, maintains, provides security, environmental support, and tenant services on three facilities.  The Volunteer Army Ammunition Plant (VOAAP) is located near Chattanooga, Tennessee, and produced Tri-Nitro-Toulene (TNT).  The Indiana Army Ammunition Plant (INAAP) is located just north of Louisville, Kentucky.  INAAP formerly made Blackpowder, Nitro-Cellulose, and bagged charges.  Tecumseh's most recent management acquisition is the Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant (TCAAP) located north of St. Paul, in Arden Hills, Minnesota.  In addition to the above  facilities, Tecumseh is under contract with the General Services Administration (GSA) to maintain the grounds, historic buildings, and security on the area surrounding the Lorton Prison Facility located just south of Washington, DC.  

These historic facilities, which have been in operation for almost 60 years, have become the focus of considerable environmental and cultural concerns.  They have had hundreds of millions of dollars invested in them in the form of personal and real property.  Tecumseh is addressing these concerns in a cost-effective manner.

Tecumseh Professional Associates, as Operating Contractor of facilities provides a wide range of facilities services, including environmental monitoring and compliance, coupled with extensive operations and maintenance support.  These services reflect a commitment on the part of Tecumseh to cost effective and efficient management of assets while meeting the unique needs of the customer at these locations.
